ABOUT THE PASSAGE HOUSE INN

Tucked away in the quaint estuary town of Topsham, the 18th-century Passage House Inn boasts one of
the most picturesque waterside views in East Devon.
Gaze across the tranquil River Exe as you linger over an al fresco lunch, see the boats sail in over a
sunset pint of real ale or watch local wildlife such as avocets and swans as you enjoy a morning coffee.
With a combination of traditional features and a bright modern interior, the relaxed ambiance of this
historic inn makes it a popular choice with residents and visitors alike, whether you choose to dine in the
popular garden area, the cosy bar, or welcoming restaurant.
Handily situated on the Exe Trail cycle path between Exeter and Exmouth, just five miles from the city,
The Passage House Inn is a welcome stop-off for cyclists and dog walkers alike. So, if you’ve built up a
thirst, there’s a great selection of well-kept real ales to sample, not to mention the burgeoning Passage
House Ginn list for a refreshing G&T.
If you need to refuel before a wander around the many interesting shops of Topsham, the lunch menu
offers a good selection of light bites – what could be better than a beer battered fishfinger ciabatta
sandwich and a pint on the riverside patio before a stroll along the Exe?

If you’re after something a little more substantial, the main menu boasts starters such as chargrilled
whole sardine’s, mains including mussels with a creamy garlic, onion and white wine sauce, curried
cauliflower taco’s, or a 8oz sirloin from the chargrill.
There is also a selection of traditional favourites such as beer battered Haddock, ham, eggs and chips,
pie of the day and The Passage House seafood platter sharer and don’t forget to check out the
mouthwatering specials boards featuring fresh fish dishes among many others.
Desserts such as salted caramel brownie and sticky toffee pudding will round off your meal to
perfection. (All dishes are subject to change. So, you don’t get bored!)
The menu, featuring quality ingredients from local suppliers, is available from noon until 9pm. The
Passage House Inn also serves up sumptuous Sunday roasts.
